The Magpul Suppressor Cover - 5.5" is the first product of its kind designed to withstand extreme temperatures resulting from prolonged strings of fire, providing protection against burns for both the user and equipment while also expediting the cooling process. This innovative cover is made up of a heat-resistant polymer sleeve layered over a raised stainless steel heat shield that attaches directly to the suppressor body using steel clamps. By minimizing heat transfer, the Magpul Suppressor Cover - 5.5" can keep external cover temperatures up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the suppressor surface, allowing for airflow to aid in the cooling process.

Not only does the cover act as a thermal insulator, but it also reduces the suppressor's thermal signature and mitigates mirage distortions in the sight picture. This helps to prevent impact damage to the suppressor body and lowers the risk of accidental heat-related injury or damage to personnel and equipment during firing and cooldown periods. Designed specifically for 1.5" outer diameter round suppressors with a body length of approximately 5.5", such as the Surefire SOCOM556-RC2, the Magpul Suppressor Cover - 5.5" will soon be available in other lengths as well.
